Green Castle Estate House is an intimate guest house on a historic plantation set among the lush green beauty of the Jamaican countryside. We pride ourselves in personalized service and delicious Jamaican food in a safe and secluded setting. Green Castle offers the opportunity for an authentic Jamaican experience as well as a relaxing get-away. With a maximum capacity of 8 guests, your desire to experience the vibrant Jamaican culture and beautiful countryside can be balanced with book reading on the breezy verandah, napping in the hammock and lazy afternoons by the pool.
Green Castle Estate is located on an undeveloped portion of the north coast of Jamaica, with spectacular mountain and sea views. The Estate's 1600 acres are a nature and bird lover's paradise; there are miles of farm roads for walking, birding and relaxing. There is a wide diversity of ecosystems, including more than a mile of coast line, with Jacks Bay Beach that provides a scenic spot for a swim, the Long Beach, which is a best for walking and collecting stones polished by the sea, and spectacular cliffs where you can sit and watch the waves crash into the rocks. Green Castle is also a working farm with organic coconut, pimento and cocoa, as well as commercial orchids and Jamaican bred cattle. If your travel plans don't allow for an overnight stay at Green Castle, you can always come for the day, take an Estate Tour with Ms. Dolly and have lunch on the beach.
As the Caribbean has become dominated by large developments, Green Castle is deliberately building a long term plan for sustainable tourism. This plan integrates the local community, local business partners and Greencastle Tropical Study Center, a nonprofit organization that facilitates research and teaching opportunities, conservation and economic development. All Green Castle stakeholders are working toward environmentally friendly tourism and land uses that are sustainable and in harmony with the diverse ecosystems that make Green Castle the special place that it is. The Estate House is one of the first tourism initiatives at Green Castle, which means that your stay at the Estate House will be a personal experience. All of us like the chance to meet, greet and make our guests feel welcome, and share a piece of our Jamaica, where people are glad you came, happy to have a chat, and always ready to share a Red Stripe and a friendly game of dominos.
